Some 100 years old but still an acclaimed Early. Superb flavour and its high dry matter makes for tasty chips as well as new potatoes.
Uses: Floury New Potato/Chips.

Pros. reliable, great tasting potato with a floury texture. One of the few floury first early. Great for making a creamy mash, chips or roasting. Grow this variety for quality and taste which is hard to match in a first early.
This variety has low resistance to dry rot, late blight on foliage and late blight on tubers. Susceptible to dry rot Fusarium coeruleum , late blight on foliage and tubers, skin spot, potato leafroll virus and potato virus Yo.
I have always and will continue to grow these heir loom potatoes... the secret is to get them planted as early as possible and then get them out and consume as early as possible, this avoids a lot of the problems associated with this variety of potato.
