Description

Paeonia lactiflora ‘Do Tell’ Fragrant

A spectacular Chinese Peony, award-winning Peony 'Do Tell’ is incredibly beautiful in bloom! The large anemone-shaped blossoms are soft shell pink on the outside and densely packed with deep rose and golden-yellow centre staminodes at their heart. Mildly fragrant, they are borne on thin reddish stems. Blooming heavily in early summer . Height: 90cm Spread: 50cm.

Peonies produce their extravagant display in early June every year, regardless of weather, because they are among the most durable and longest-lived plants. They have no natural enemies, no exacting cultural requirements beyond full sun and good sweet soil, and they shrug off cold. After bloom is complete, you are left with a handsome mound of glossy, deep green foliage that will happily anchor the next sequence of flowers in the border. Finally, Peonies make superior cut flowers, lasting more than a week if cut in full bud.

We ship large roots that are fresh from the growing fields. While a newly planted Peony seldom makes a first-class show in its first season, these vigorous plants will reach the top of their form in their second or third year and will then last for generations. Flowers early summer ht 90 .cm

I cannot say what it will flower like or what the scent will be like as I potted it when I received it and it obviously will not be in bloom for a good while yet. It has budded in the pot and looks healthy. I am giving it 5* as it was in good condition when I received it and also came with a marker with a photograph of the item.
