Our globe-trotting plant hunter just had to add this pretty poppy to our UK trials programme, but rushing it home to our Ipswich HQ, it seems something got lost in translation - ‘Bicolour’ was misheard as ‘Bigalow’ and the name stuck! Graceful flowers float on sturdy stems over compact foliage. Sow in drifts across the border or scatter some seed into any spare gaps as luxurious fillers! They are easy to grow in almost any site, looking magnificent in the border, fantastic in large containers and will come up year after year in the garden, if self-sown seedlings are left to grow.
