Bob Flowerdew The Joy of Scented Plants

Bob has been a member of BBC Radio 4’s prestigious ‘Gardener’s Question Time’ panel for over 20 years where he concentrates on fruits, vegetables, organic methods and scented plants. He is an Ambassador for Garden Organic (HDRA), and the Soil Association , President of Norfolk Organic Gardeners, Champion for Millennium Greens, and also of The Woodland Trust, a Patron of NWAI Rethink Rubbish campaign, Send a cow to Africa, and Dig it! He lives in Norfolk where his family have been farming since Tudor times . He has received five Golden Trowel Awards for Amateur Gardening Radio Personality, He writes for Amateur Gardening, Kitchen Garden Magazine and BBC Gardeners World Magazine , as well as regular appearances on TV in the UK, Canada and the West Indies.

Frances and Iain MacDonald A Magical Spring Garden

Frances, who trained in the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin, met her husband, Iain, when they were both working in the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. They returned to live in Co. Wexford where they have spent the last thirty years creating The Bay Garden in Camolin. Their garden opens to the public and they are the creative duo behind the much acclaimed Mr. Middleton Tulip Extravaganza @ The Bay Garden. They have worked in all aspects of gardening, including radio, TV and judging horticultural shows at home and abroad. They both lecture and guide garden tours; Iain works mainly designing and landscaping gardens while Frances is the Garden Tours Manager with Travel Department. She organises and guides garden tours in Ireland, Japan, China, USA, South Africa as well as Europe. She also has a monthly column in The Irish Garden magazine. www. thebaygarden.com

Jimi Blake Plants from Hunting Brook Gardens and beyond

Hunting Brook Gardens consists of five acres of amazing botanical herbaceous gardens and fifteen acres of wonderful woodland gardens and valley. Jimi Blake its creator collects plants from his foreign expeditions and sources rare seeds globally. Using his palettes of assorted treasures he generates a unique fusion of tropical, prairie and woodland styles which are graced with expansive views over the Wicklow Mountains. JIMI BLAKE trained in the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin as a horticulturist and was subsequently appointed Head Gardener at Airfield House in Dundrum, Dublin. He resuscitated a large Victorian garden to its former glory enabling the public to rediscover and enjoy a lost gem. Jimi is a Gardening Consultant, Planting Designer, and International Lecturer giving talks and presentations in the United States, England and Europe.

It’s this passion that drives him to seek out new and exciting varieties to offer the Irish public. He has been responsible for introducing more new varieties to Irish gardeners in the last 40 years than any other garden supplier and is a regular speaker in Ireland as well as Holland and the U.K
