A new superfood plant introduction from Mr Middleton.
Extremely productive, Saskatoon Martin is bred to produce superior fruiting and easy growing and early ripening fruits of good quality.
A single bush can produce upwards of a thousand berries per season. Berries, which resemble large blueberries but are actually a sort of pome mak - ing them more closely related to apples, ripen simultaneously making for a simple harvest. Flavour is delicious and piquant, reminiscent of blueberries and almonds.
They are typically eaten fresh or dried, or are used to make pie fillings of unrivalled flavour. They are rich in manganese, mag - nesium, iron, phenolic, flavonols, natural sugars, vitamin Calcium, and potassium, copper. Totally hardy and will tolerate a range of soil types, even those of poor quality. Clusters of very pretty flowers late spring and the leaves for great autumn colours.
