Often known as the Fern Leaf Lavender because of its attractive foliage all the more enhanced by it oregano fragrance and showy purple flowers. Ideal for planting in sunny borders or containers.
Sow seed into pots on the surface of the compost and lightly cover with vermiculite or compost. Place the pots in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag and keep at around 15-20C (59-68F) until the seeds germinate. This can take 1-5 months. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.
Transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots when large enough to handle. Plant out when all risk of frost has gone about 23-30cm (9-12in) apart in clusters of 3 to 5 plants for maximum impact.
Lavender oil produced from the plants may be poisonous and should not be consumed.
