Garlic Sabadrome is a productive softneck garlic selected for its good-sized bulbs, excellent kitchen quality and reliable performance. Planted in autumn, the cloves establish roots before winter and make strong growth as conditions improve in spring.
It produces well-formed bulbs packed with flavoursome cloves and is an excellent general-purpose garlic for the home kitchen. Use it fresh, roast whole bulbs to develop their natural sweetness, or add the cloves to sauces, soups, casseroles and countless savoury dishes.
As a softneck type, Sabadrome is also a particularly useful choice where good storage after harvest is required.
Why We Chose It
A productive, versatile softneck garlic that offers exactly what most gardeners want – reliable crops, good flavour and useful storage qualities.
Growing Garlic Sabadrome
Plant in autumn or early winter in a sunny position and well-drained, fertile soil.
Separate each bulb into individual cloves immediately before planting. Set the cloves approximately 5 cm deep, always with the pointed end facing upwards. Space approximately 15 cm apart, allowing around 30 cm between rows.
Avoid freshly manured or waterlogged ground. Keep the developing crop free from weeds and water during prolonged dry periods in spring and early summer.
Garlic is generally ready to harvest when the lower leaves begin to yellow and die back during summer. Carefully lift the bulbs rather than pulling them from the ground. Dry thoroughly in an airy position before storing.
Mr Middleton Verdict
A dependable softneck garlic for anyone who wants a good crop for both fresh use and storing.
